How does it work?
This preparation contains ispaghula husk in combination with mebeverine. Ispaghula husk is a bulk-forming laxative. When it comes into contact with water it swells and increases the volume of the gut contents. This causes the muscles in the gut to push the contents of the gut along more quickly.

Mebeverine acts directly on the smooth muscle in a part of the gut (colon) causing it to relax. It prevents nerve signals getting through to the muscles which also causes the muscle to relax. This prevents the painful muscle spasms associated with irritable bowel syndrome or other gastrointestinal diseases.
